The Purpose of SBIAA
Formed in 1992, the SBIAA is an regional joint powers authority created by and through State Legislation to serve as the owner, developer, and operator of the aeronautical portions of the former Norton Air Force Base, now known as the San Bernardino International Airport.
SBIAA Oversees a U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part-139 Certified Public Airport.
SBIAA envisions SBD as a major economic engine and a vital resource for our local communities, promoting aviation, contributing to a highly skilled workforce, tourists, travelers, businesses, and recognition for our beautifully designed, carefully planned and state-of-the-art airport facilities. SBIAA's efforts strengthen our community and region by:

Passenger Service
San Bernardino International Airport (SBD) began scheduled passenger service in August 2022 with Breeze Airways, marking a major milestone in the airport’s development. Initial routes included nonstop flights to San Francisco and one-stop service to Provo, Utah. The airport’s modern terminal offers a smooth, convenient experience with fast TSA screening, affordable $5 daily parking, and easy access to major freeways. Designed for comfort and efficiency, SBD provides travelers with a stress-free alternative to crowded regional airports—and with strong community support and growing demand, the airport is well poised for continued growth in passenger service.
Air Cargo
San Bernardino International Airport serves as a base for three of the largest air cargo carriers in the United States: UPS, FedEx, and Amazon Air.
Air cargo operations at SBD contribute significantly to the local economy by generating employment opportunities and supporting related industries such as logistics, warehousing, and transportation.
